Washington, D.C., April 22, 2026 — The Embassy of India organized a Special Exhibition titled “The Human Cost of Terrorism” at the Cannon Caucus Room, Cannon House Office Building, Capitol Hill, underscoring the enduring global impact of terrorism and renewing calls for international cooperation to eliminate the menace in all its forms.
The tragedy continues to cast a long shadow, serving as a reminder of the human suffering caused by acts of terror.
Through interactive displays, videos, and personal testimonies, the exhibition highlighted the profound and far-reaching consequences of terrorism on individuals, families, and communities worldwide. It also served as a tribute to victims and their loved ones, while urging the international community to reaffirm its collective resolve to counter terrorism decisively and comprehensively.

Among the largest engagements hosted by the Embassy on Capitol Hill, the event witnessed participation from many Members of the U.S. Congress across the political spectrum and several representatives from Congressional offices. key members from Foreign Affairs, US army Sargent, social workers, think tanks, members of Media, veterans and key diaspora members were in attendance, alongside senior U.S. Administration officials, members of the Indian diaspora, students, think tanks, and media representatives.
In his remarks, Ambassador Vinay Kwatra reiterated India’s unwavering commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. Citing the message of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he stated that “India will never bow to any form of terror.”

Members of the U.S. Congress expressed strong solidarity with India and emphasized their continued commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in counterterrorism efforts.
The exhibition concluded with a unified call for sustained global action, emphasizing that terrorism remains a shared challenge requiring coordinated and resolute international response.
Among those in attendance were representatives Lisa McClain, Bill Huizenga, Brad Sherman, Brad Schneider, Rich McCormick, Chris Coons, Michael Baumgartner, Dave Taylor, and April McClain Delaney.

The participating lawmakers underscored bipartisan solidarity with the objectives of the exhibition and reiterated support for strengthening cooperation between India and the United States in counterterrorism efforts. Their presence reflected a shared recognition of the importance of sustained international collaboration in addressing the global threat of terrorism.
