FIIDS Hosts Fourth Annual Capitol Hill Day and U.S.-India Partnership Summit in Washington, D.C.

Washington, D.C. — June 23, 2026 — The Foundation for India and Indian Diaspora Studies (FIIDS), a Washington, D.C.-based policy institute and advocacy platform representing the policy interests of more than 5 million Indian Americans, is hosting its fourth annual Capitol Hill Day today with nearly 200 delegates from 25 states meeting with more than 125 elected offices. FIIDS is also hosting the U.S.-India Partnership Summit this evening at the CVC Theater, bringing together diplomats, elected officials, and policy leaders to discuss the future of U.S.-India cooperation.

FIIDS said the day’s advocacy efforts are focused on five major areas of U.S. interest: Indo-Pacific trade and security, the U.S.-India strategic partnership, Indian American contributions and concerns, immigration reform for U.S. innovation, and critical minerals supply-chain security. The organization said the agenda reflects both the growing role of Indian Americans in American life and the need for Congress to address issues that affect U.S. competitiveness, national security, and democratic resilience.

“This is a moment to translate influence into policy impact,” FIIDS said. “Indian Americans contribute across technology, research, academia, hospitality, health care, small business, and agriculture, and our community is engaged in ensuring that Congress understands the issues that matter most to America’s future”.

The Capitol Hill Day is followed by the U.S.-India Multilateral Partnerships Summit from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a dinner program afterward. Speakers include Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Bethany Morrison, DCM Ambassador Mangya Khampa, and other diplomats, elected officials, and leaders focused on the U.S.-India partnership.

FIIDS’ policy priorities call for action on Indo-Pacific resilience, stronger U.S.-India defense and technology cooperation, recognition of Indian American contributions, reform of high-skilled immigration, and a durable strategy to secure critical minerals supply chains. The organization said these priorities are central to America’s economic strength and strategic competitiveness in a more contested global environment.

FIIDS noted that this year’s event follows steady growth in participation, building on roughly 70 delegates in 2023, about 132 in 2024, and about 145 delegates in 2025. The 2026 effort reflects FIIDS’ continued expansion as a national platform for Indian American civic engagement and policy advocacy.
