Following the murder of NCP leader Baba Ziauddin Siddique, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma took to social media to weigh in on the ongoing controversy involving Siddique, Salman Khan, and Lawrence Bishnoi. Siddique, who was close to several Bollywood stars, including Salman Khan, Sanjay Dutt, and Shilpa Shetty, was shot dead near Nirmal Nagar in Bandra East on Saturday. Bishnoi’s gang has claimed responsibility for the assassination and issued a threat to target anyone who supports Salman Khan.
On Monday, October 14, Varma shared his perspective on X (formerly Twitter), initially posting a cryptic message: “A LAWYER turned GANGSTER wants to take REVENGE for a DEER’s death by killing a SUPER STAR, and as a WARNING orders some of his GANG of 700, recruited through Facebook, to first kill a BIG POLITICIAN who is a close friend of the STAR. The POLICE can’t catch him because he is under the protection of the GOVERNMENT in a JAIL, and his spokesman speaks from ABROAD. If a Bollywood writer comes up with a story like this, they will thrash him for writing the most unbelievable and ridiculous story ever.”
Later, Varma directly named those involved, posting, “LAWRENCE BISHNOI was just a 5-YEAR-OLD KID when the deer was killed in 1998, and he has held onto this grudge for 25 years. Now, at age 30, his LIFE’S GOAL is to kill SALMAN to take REVENGE for KILLING that DEER. Is this ANIMAL love at its PEAK or GOD playing a WEIRD JOKE?”
Baba Siddique, famous for hosting grand iftar parties during Eid, made headlines in 2013 when the long-standing feud between Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan ended at his event. Following Siddique’s tragic death, Salman Khan canceled his appearance on Bigg Boss 18 and visited Siddique’s home to pay his respects.
