There is a good news for every ice cream lover. Taste Atlas, a prestigious food guide has recently revealed the list of “World’s 100 Most Iconic Ice Creams” and five Indian brands have bagged a spot in it. Out of which, three varieties are from Mumbai.

Recently, Taste Atlas, a renowned food guide has unveiled its list of the ‘world’s 100 most iconic ice creams’ and guess what five Indian varieties have got featured.
hree Mumbai-based brands—Apsara, Naturals, and K Rustom & Co.—along with Corner House from Bengaluru and Pabba’s from Mangaluru have made it to the online food and travel guide’s prestigious list. The first five positions have been given to Gelateria Vivoli (Italy), Gelateria Badiani (Italy), Angelo Brocato (United States), Cadore, (Argentina) and Zanoni & Zanoni (Austria) respectively.

1. K. Rustom & Co
Established in 1953 in Mumbai, K. Rustom & Co. is renowned for its ice cream sandwiches, featuring flavourful slices of iced treats sandwiched between two thin, crispy wafers. Their mango ice cream sandwich has remained favourite among customers for years.
2. Pabba’s Ice Cream
Founded in Mangaluru in 1975, Pabba’s is celebrated for its legendary ‘gadbad’ ice cream, which combines jellies, fruits, and nuts in a delightful three-flavour combo, earning it a coveted spot on the list.
3. Natural’s Ice Cream
Natural’s Ice Cream, established in 1984, is famed for its fresh fruit, preservative-free ice creams. According to Taste Atlas, “Their most iconic flavour is tender coconut, a uniquely tropical treat that uses fresh coconut meat in a creamy ice cream base. This flavour is adored by locals and tourists alike, embodying the refreshing taste of the coastal city.”
4. Apsara Ice Creams
Apsara Ice Creams, established in 1971 in Mumbai, is known for its creative twist on flavours. Their signature guava ice cream, featuring tiny pieces of fruit and a dash of spice, is a standout favourite among patrons.
5. Corner House
Founded in 1982, Bengaluru’s Corner House earned its place with its iconic Death by Chocolate ice cream. Taste Atlas describes, “The most iconic offering at Corner House is the death by chocolate, which is not so much an ice cream flavour as it is an indulgent sundae layered with cake, ice cream, chocolate sauce, nuts, and topped with a cherry. The richness and depth of chocolate used in this dessert have made it a city-wide favourite.”
