A dance performance by Uttaranchal University students at a college event has gone viral. The routine took an unexpected turn, capturing the attention of the internet and making the video a sensation online.

Watch the video here:

An “ice-breaking” event at the college featured girls and boys dancing to a Hindi song. What followed was quite unexpected, as the video, posted by Saniya Raithwan on Instagram, has amassed over 28 million views.

In the video, a boy and a girl danced together, surrounded by cheering students. Unbeknownst to them, the song they were dancing to was associated with Raksha Bandhan, a celebration of the bond between brothers and sisters.

According to the text written in the caption of the viral video, the boy is a senior student, while the girl is his junior.

The short clip begins with the girl leading the boy to the dance floor. As they start dancing, the mood shifts dramatically when the students realize that the song is associated with Raksha Bandhan.

The entire group of students bursts into laughter, and the boy, realizing the song’s lyrics, quickly exits the dance floor, also laughing.

The comments section was flooded with humor and sympathy for the boy. Several users remarked, “Not ice-breaking but heart-breaking.”

“The end is unpredictable,” a user said. Another added, “He will never dance again.”

“They were enjoying the dance until they realised,” one of the users quipped, and another user rightly said, “Destroy their happiness in seconds.”

Several users also noted the boy’s change of expression.

“The way he threw her hand.”

“The boy’s expression drop was so funny.”

“The expression change on his face.”

Ice-breaking ceremonies are typically organized by senior students in schools or colleges to welcome new students and foster interaction between newcomers and existing members of the institution.
