In a scene straight out of a movie, a wealthy Chinese woman recently took revenge on the staff of a Louis Vuitton store after they humiliated her during a shopping trip. The incident, which has since gone viral, is being hailed as the “most satisfying act of vengeance this year” by netizens.

The story began in June when the woman, known online as “Xiaomayouren” on the Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu, visited a Louis Vuitton store. Expecting to browse the latest luxury collections, she was instead met with indifference and rudeness. The staff dismissed her requests to see the new arrivals, directing her only to outdated items and treating her with a lack of respect. Feeling humiliated, the woman left the store, but she didn’t forget the slight.

Instead of letting the incident slide, she spent the next two months planning her revenge. During that time, she quietly amassed 600,000 yuan (approximately Rs 68.50 lakh) in cash. When she was ready, she returned to the store with her friends, acting as if they were interested in making a significant purchase. The store staff, unaware of what was about to happen, meticulously counted each yuan in the woman’s bag—only to be told at the end of the process, “We don’t want to buy now. We are leaving.”

In a detailed post on social media, “Xiaomayouren” described how she was treated during her initial visit and how she decided to turn the tables. “After they finished counting the money, I just took it back and left. How could I possibly buy their products to improve their work performance?” she wrote. Her post quickly gained traction, with many praising her for standing up to the perceived arrogance of the luxury brand’s employees.

The incident has sparked widespread discussion online, with many users criticizing the condescending attitudes often displayed by luxury brand staff. This isn’t the first time such behavior has come to light. In 2021, another woman in China faced similar mistreatment at a luxury store simply because she was dressed casually.
